Since winning the 2005 Brahms International Competition in the piano category at the Brahms International Competition held in Percach on the shores of Lake Austria, Brahms's summer home, the French pianist Jofroit Couteau has continued to receive high acclaim for her interpretation of the composer's works. After releasing a collection of Brahms's late works for solo piano on the INTRADA label in 2008, which was well received in Japan, she has systematically recorded Brahms's chamber music and complete solo works for LA Dolce Volta, which have been released on Diapason, Le For their new release in 2024, they will be joined by Amory Coetot, with whom they performed the Violin Sonatas that won a total of French review awards, and the top players of the French Radio Philharmonic Orchestra. Two clarinet sonatas and a horn trio.The former two pieces, written by a composer in his later years who declared that he would compose no more music, and inspired by his encounter with the master Mühlfeldt, are also outstanding in their balance of serene clarity and dynamism, as if one could see into the depths of the work. The interpretation of the Horn Trio, in which the young Brahms built up a sense of style while always maintaining the warmth of human skin, is also unparalleled. The three pieces on this disc are new masterpieces of the 21st century that do not betray any of the premonitions that have been expressed in the preceding discs in the series. The concert will be held in the famous hall of Messe in the Lorraine region, which has a complex history with many cultures of German origin, and will also feature the work of Jean-Marc René, a renowned engineer who has worked for many labels including ALPHA and NAIVE.
