The Tragedy of Salome," colorfully portrayed by Alain Altinoglu and the master musicians of the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra] Alain Altinoglu (Altinoglu), who has gained international acclaim not only in concert but also in opera, and the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra, of which he has been the principal conductor since 2021. This is the second album. Florent Schmidt's popular "The Tragedy of Salome" was written for small orchestra in 1907 as incidental music for a silent opera, and was later adapted and performed as ballet music for large orchestra in 1913 at the request of the Ballets Russes. 1907 version has 10 wind parts (Fl & Picc, Cl, The 1907 version was composed of 10 wind parts (Fl&Picc, Cl, Ob, Eh, Fg, Tp, 2Hr, 2Tb), 3 percussionists, 5 strings and harp, and could have been performed by a small orchestra pit, but this performance introduces over 30 string players alone, and is as symphonic an interpretation as the large orchestra version, and is a great pleasure to hear. Through the virtuosity of the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra, which is known for its high performance technique, the audience can fully enjoy the beauty and dynamism of the work and its great climax.Written for cello and piano between 1899 and 1903, "Dirge" is a beautiful little piece, freshly written with the sensibility of a 30-year-old or so, and can be heard here in the version arranged by the composer himself in 1911, when he became skilled in orchestral music.
