This is a long-awaited new recording. The two pieces are a perfect match: Brahms No. 18, which he performed in the semi-finals of the Queen Elisabeth Competition, and the popular Brahms No. 21, which he performed with the Mozarteum Orchestra led by Howard Griffiths, who excels in the interpretation of classical and early Romantic music, including the complete Ries Symphonies at the CPO.
