Description:
Zoriana Kushpler, one of Ukraine's leading singers, sings on the theme of "love, longing, and longing for home" in this album. The album features operatic arias, vocal works, and folk arrangements by Ukrainian composers. Born in Lviv, a city in the western part of Ukraine, Kushpler first gained attention when she won the first prize at the Munich ARD Competition in 2000, and from 2007 to 2020 she was a member of the ensemble of the Vienna State Opera, participating in numerous performances and recordings, including "The Ring of the Nibelung" conducted by Thielemann. He is still based in Vienna. She continues to be based in Vienna for opera, recitals, and educational activities. The Luhanshik Symphony Orchestra, which performs with him, is from the capital of Luhanshik Oblast in southeastern Ukraine, but was evacuated to Lviv following the Russian invasion in February 2022. Kushpler, who was born there, performed with them and they hit it off, resulting in this album.
