Brahms by Jonathan Fournel, the winner of the Queen Elisabeth International Piano Competition 2021, was a big hit in Japan after Keigo Mutsukawa and Tomoki Sakata won the prizes of the Queen Elisabeth International Piano Competition 2021. Born in Sarrebourg, France in 1993, his admiration for Brahms has been growing over the past few years, and he is particularly impressed by the depth of tone and grandeur of these two pieces on the piano. His love for Brahms has grown over the years, and he is particularly attached to these two pieces for their amazing technique that reveals the depth and grandeur of the piano's tone. This is a perfect match with his dynamic playing style, which transcends national characteristics and time periods to offer a global and wide-ranging expression unique to today's young generation. Brahms' Piano Concerto No. 2, which won the first prize in the final round of the Elisabeth Competition, was also performed. The Handel Variations were also performed at this competition, and a live recording of the performance has been released (QEC2021), but the recording here is a session recording made before the competition.
