Bach Cantatas by John Batt and the Dunedin Consort, long-awaited! The Dunedin Consort, a Scottish old instrument ensemble led by John Batt, a well-known Bach scholar, has been releasing Handel's works, Bach Passions, and orchestral works on LINN RECORDS. The group has released Handel's works, Bach's Passions, and orchestral works on LINN RECORDS, but this is surprisingly the first time they have released a cantata. The theme of this release is comfort and salvation, considering the difficulties the world is currently facing, and we are happy to see that the selection includes popular pieces such as Solo Cantata No. 82, which begins with a duet between Matthew Brook and oboe, and No. 106. The chorus is also performed by soloists only, making this a wonderful album that allows the listener to enjoy the sound of each piece in a quiet and tasteful performance. Naxos Japan
