Kecklan's major work for unaccompanied flute, "Songs of Nectaire," complete recording! This album by Nicola Woodward, a flutist active as a soloist in the UK, completes Keklan's great work "Songs of Nectaire". Named after the flute-playing elder Nectaire who appears in Anatole France's 1914 novel "Rebellion of the Angels" and written for unaccompanied flute, the work is divided into three parts, Op. 198, 199, and 200, and the total performance time is nearly 3.5 hours. Woodward incorporates the echoes of the cathedral into this work, which seems to speak to the listener, and maintains a noble tension until the end.
