The beautiful and lighthearted complete Mozart violin concertos performed by Baiba Sklide. Mozart's violin concertos, previously thought to have seven or eight pieces, have recently been found to be spurious, including Nos. 6 and 7, and it is now recognized that Nos. 1 through 5 are Mozart's true works. All five concertos were written during his stay in Salzburg in 1775, but Mozart did not write cadenzas for any of them, and the players were expected to improvise. Mozart did not write cadenzas for any of his pieces, and he expected his players to improvise. Scriade here also plays his own cadenza. Conductor Audran has said that "Skryde is an intuitive performer who discovers new music each time she plays, so she never repeats the same thing at all," and he highly appreciates her overflowing musicality.
