The latest album is a collection of "Lamentations" by Morales, one of the most revered composers of the 16th century in their native Spain. Morales showed his talent for polyphonic music, the height of the art of counterpoint, and left a variety of church music at the court of Emperor Carl V (King Carlos I of Spain), who was well versed in the various arts.The lyrics were taken from "Lamentations" of the Old Testament, a poem of sorrow by the prophet Jeremiah, who lamented the destruction of Jerusalem in defiance of God, and the music of this disc was chanted during the period of temperance before Easter.
