Born in Omsk, Siberia, Shevarine went to Moscow at the age of 20 with his own compositions and was highly praised by Gurier and Myaskovsky. He then went on to the Moscow Conservatory, where he began his career as a composer. She was a close friend of Shostakovich, who was active at the same time. Like Shostakovich, Shevarine fell victim to "Zhidanov's criticism," and for a time disappeared from the stage of the Soviet musical world, leading a life of hardship. However, Shevarine's approach to music remained consistent, always writing music with determination, and he left behind many powerful works that further developed the compositional style he inherited from his mentor Myaskovsky. Like the first album (TOCC-136), this album is performed by the Siberian Symphony Orchestra conducted by Vasilyev and features two suites and ballet music written in different periods.
