A magnificent live performance at the World Heritage Site of Laterano Cathedral! The Czech conductor Václav Luks and his period ensemble Collegium 1704 performed Lully and Biber's large-scale religious works at the Cathedral of San Giovanni in Laterano in Rome, a World Heritage Site that retains many of its ancient architectural features. The "Lully and Bieber" is a large religious work. The trumpets and timpani, which are positioned on the left and right sides of the pews, combine to create a magnificent sound that envelops the entire cathedral. The lulli with the children's chorus, with the trumpets concentrated in the front, is also very satisfying to listen to. Not only the brilliance, but also the magnificent performance space that evokes a long history is noteworthy. In 2016, they performed this work at Salzburg Cathedral, where Biber's 53-voice Mass was first performed, which drew much attention, and they have performed it many times.
