Description:
This is a special edition of Mozart's instrumental works from the same period from the ORFEO label's famous recordings, and the price is very reasonable for a 2-CD set. The only work by Salieri that has been popular recently is the Harmonie Musique Sinfonia (Overture), an arrangement of a song from an opera for wind ensemble, but the wide range of other works by less well-known composers is rather welcome. Pedro Etienne Soler was a clarinet virtuoso of his day and a native of Spain. The finale of the concerto included here is a "fandango" with castanets and tambourines. Naxos Japan
