Description:

Alexei Lyubimov is an heir to the orthodox school of Russian pianism, having studied under Genlif Neigaus and Lev Naumov. He is a virtuoso player who has been searching for the ideal fortepiano that his favorite composers knew. In the world of fortepiano, he is famous for having trained many excellent students in Russia, Holland, France, and other countries. J-L. Dusek (different from F-X. Dushek, who was active in Vienna at the same time as Mozart) was born in Paris and studied with Marie-Antoinette. He was patronized by Marie-Antoinette and traveled to Berlin and London during the Revolutionary period, writing many masterpiece sonatas that brought out the best of the new instrument, the fortepiano (the harpsichord was still in strong use at that time), with his excellent technique and extraordinary compositional sense. It is, so to speak, the missing link between Mozart and Schubert, but the true value of this work, which enthused the people of the time, can only be appreciated by going back to the sound of the instruments of the time - the composer and pianist, Clementi The detailed tonal expression produced by the elaborate reproduction of instruments modeled on historical instruments from Longman, a long-established keyboard workshop that Clementi, a composer and pianist, acquired and extended, and from the leftover historical instruments of the Viennese master piano maker Walter, is the work of Paul McNulty and Chris Mahne, two leading historical piano restorers of our time, who are both well versed in the handling of these instruments. The two soloists, both of whom are well versed in the handling of this type of instrument (engineered by Fox-Gall, a master engineer who has also worked on chamber music recordings for Pan Classics), bring out its fullest appeal. The two soloists, both of whom know how to work with the instrument, bring out its full potential (engineering by Fox-Gall, a master engineer who has also recorded chamber music for Pan Classics).
