At the beginning of the 18th century, when the instrumental music trend that had flourished in Italy reached and flourished in France, the young violinist Michele Masitti, who had moved from Naples to Paris, played a central role in this movement. He lived here for a long time and published nine volumes of instrumental music between 1704 and 1738, a success that won him acclaim in Parisian musical circles.
