Duo Odeon was founded in 2014 by violinist Hannah Leland and pianist Amy Fincher, then a doctoral student at Arizona State University. The ensemble's repertoire ranges from classical to contemporary, with a particular focus on the study and performance of modern American music, and is dedicated to the discovery of little-known works. Currently, they are fascinated by the violin works of Antheil. The three works on this album were written for his close friend and collaborator, violinist Werner Gebauer, and all have a rich romanticism reminiscent of Hollywood at the time of their composition, indicating a good collaboration between Antile and Gebauer. Among them, the waltz from the film music "The Rose Nymph" was arranged for piano and violin by Gebauer himself, and is a rare work discovered by Gebauer's son, Marc, among his belongings in 2016.
