Bob Kattley, the Voice of MAGNUM, who toured the UK in tribute to Tony in January of this year. He teamed up with Gary Hughes of TEN to release "Middle Earth" in 2001, which is now being re-released with a bonus live track and beautiful new artwork by Rodney Matthews! Like the previous two albums, this one was written and produced by TEN's Gary Hughes, who also participates as a player (keyboards & backing vocals). The album also continues to feature the superb and melancholy guitar playing of TEN's Vinnie Verns, as well as Steve McKenna and John Cooksey, who also played on the previous album. The album is a full-fledged concept album based on J.R.R. Tolkien's "The Hobbit" and "The Lord of the Rings," and the emotional lyrics by Gary Hughes are also worthy of attention.And as for the songs, Bob's truly compelling and exquisite singing on this album recreates the album's worldview beautifully! As with the previous album, the bonus features two songs from the official bootleg "Live At Gods," "Deep Winter" and "Fire And Ice," which showcase the band's passionate performances of the time. Beautiful artwork by Rodney Matthews and the last of his collaborations with Gary make this an overwhelming masterpiece!
