Atsushi Miyawaki is a jazz clarinetist who won the Chigusa Award Grand Prix. About 5 years after his first leader album "SCENERY", he has completed a sequel leader work "FERNWEH". Focusing on his original compositions, he presents a new world of jazz clarinet. He was 25 years old when he released his last album, and five years have passed since then. I wanted to create my own music and leave it as a tangible form, and with the backing of Mr. Kaneno of T-Tech Records, I was able to make it happen. Jazz clarinets are often associated with great players, great songs, and great performances in jazz history, and listeners often seek songs that make them nostalgic for the old days, while players often play songs in the sense of passing them down. However, in this album, the focus is not only on "lore and development," but also on "originality. The album contains a total of 10 songs, 8 originals and 2 standards. The originals were written especially for this recording, and the standards are arranged in a way that only the Jun Miyawaki Quartet can do. Each piece has its own story, and the quartet's various expressions of the clarinet can be heard in each piece.As the album title "FERNWEH" implies, "a place you have never been," you will be able to experience a new world of jazz clarinet.
