Different impulse and freedom from CARIBOU Here is the present form of dance music as depicted by Daphni, who flutters like a butterfly between clubs and melodies. Dan Snaith, who has built a worldwide success and reputation as Caribou, has established Daphni as his alias in order to pursue a more floor-oriented and intuitive expression. Butterfly" is an album that presents the essence of the Daphni project more clearly and boldly than ever before. The album is littered with fragmented samples, rhythms that naturally sway the body, and a sense of elation that suddenly appears in the midst of minimalist repetition. However, it is not limited to so-called "functional club tracks. The gaps and fluctuations in the sound and even the afterimages of the melody are carefully placed, making it an extremely complete listening piece. While under the Caribou moniker the band has developed an organic and dramatic worldview based on band ensembles and songs, Daphni takes a more improvisational approach, trusting in the sense of the moment. Butterfly" is a work that clearly demonstrates the difference between the two, while at the same time reminding us that the consistent aesthetic of the musician Dan Snaith is indeed flowing through it. Like the title of the album, "Butterfly," the songs in this album lightly traverse the space and touch the listener's senses with unpredictable trajectories. The immediacy of the music when played on the dance floor and the depth of the music when played through headphones. The fact that both are achieved makes this album special. Daphni has been reconstructing her music within the framework of genres such as house and techno, without being confined by them. In "Butterfly," Daphni weaves a sound from a personal and free perspective, while maintaining a deep understanding of and love for club culture. The domestic edition includes one additional bonus track! This work, which is both dance music and a natural fit for everyday listening, shows where the Daphni moniker is today and reminds us once again of the breadth of Dan Snaith's creations.
