Overkill
Description:
Veteran East Coast thrashers, Overkill, have released a new album! After a four-year gap, the longest in the band's history, the new album is bursting with the energetic and melodic thrash metal that is unmistakably Overkill. A must-listen for all thrashers! Overkill is a thrash metal band from the East Coast of the U.S.A. that boasts great popularity in Japan. In 1982, they changed their name to their current name, Overkill, and made their debut in 1984 with an EP bearing the band's name. The following year, they made their album debut with "Feel the Fire" on Megaforce Records, the same label that discovered Metallica. In the thrash metal world, where spitting vocals were the norm, Overkill, with a high-toned vocalist named Bobby "Blitz" Ellsworth, became very popular, even among orthodox metal fans.As a result, their second album "Taking Over" in 1987 was released on the major label Atlantic. Since then, they have released a whopping 19 albums up to the present. They have visited Japan many times, and many metal fans have been overwhelmed by their powerful stage presence. Now, Overkill is releasing their new album "Scorched," their 20th. It has been four years since their last album "Wings of War" was released in 19 years. This is the longest gap in the history of Overkill. I kept writing my parts and throwing them away. I was still changing my parts when the mix started," says Bobby. Bobby says, "I made the most of the dark period when I couldn't tour because of the pandemic, and I took my time to finish the album. That said, there should be no change in Overkill's direction. Overkill is always Overkill. As usual, the band delivers energetic and melodic thrash metal featuring the powerful vocals of Bobby. The mix was handled by master Colin Richardson. It has been 20 years since Overkill formed a tag-team since the release of "Killbox 13" in 2001. The mix is a "modern old school approach" by Colin, and is a must-listen. Members] Bobby "Blitz" Ellsworth (vocals), D.D. Vani (bass), Dave Linsk (guitar), Derek Taylor (guitar), Jason Bitner (drums)
