Description:

Serion, one of Sweden's leading bands, has released a new album. Continuing from the previous album, this album is based on the concept of "not daring to do anything new for the fans," and recreates the mysterious atmosphere of the 1998 masterpiece "Vovin"! The band is now one of Sweden's most famous bands, and they released their first album "Vovin" in 1987. They were formed in 1987 with guitarist and vocalist Christoffer Jungsson as the core of the band. After releasing several demos, they made their album debut in 1991 with "Of Darkness...". At the time, they were playing death metal that was truly Swedish. Many bands, such as Opeth, started out in Swedish death metal and became successful with their own unique style, but in the case of Serion, they found their way to symphonic music, such as orchestra and choir. Theli" (1996), the band's fifth album, was the decisive blow in establishing the symphonic line, and with a chorus of more than 10 members, it became a milestone in symphonic metal music.Later, they introduced a large number of orchestral instruments and became extremely popular, especially in Europe. The album "Leviathan" released in 2009 was, in a sense, a special work. The concept of this album was to "do nothing new. This is a new frontier that a band like Therion, which has been taking on new challenges for a long time, has reached. The band, which had been taking on new challenges for as long as Serion had been around, had reached a new level, one in which they dared to repeat what they had done in the past for their fans. Leviathan" was conceived as a trilogy, and this release is part two. Of course, the concept remains the same, "nothing new," but the theme this time is to recreate the mysterious and melancholic atmosphere of the 1998 masterpiece "Vovin"! With female vocals and a choir that plays a big role, this album is nothing but "what the fans want to hear". This is the Therion that fans want to hear. And needless to say, there is no way that Therion will let this be just a rehash. In the hands of a creative band like them, even "not doing something new" becomes "something new"! Members] Tomas Wikström (vocals), Lori Lewis (vocals), Christoffel Jungson (guitar), Christian Vidal (guitar), Nalle Paulsen (bass), Bjørn Hooglund (drums)
