Ritter's first album "Distortions" released in 1967, which included "Action Woman", the first song on Vol. 1 of the 60's garage compilation album "Pebbles", is one of the best American garage albums of the 1960's. Ritter was formed in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Ritter, a psychedelic/garage band formed in Minneapolis, Minnesota. After their second album "$100 Fine" in 1968, which featured more original songs and pursued a more psychedelic sound, the band's third album, their first major release, saw the band undergo a speedy, hard-and-heavy transformation.The band's loud and heavy ensemble, a proto-type of 70's hard rock, is comparable to the MC5 and the Stooges of the same era.
