Monsieur is city pop, how wonderful! Monsieur Monsieur has released four albums from the trio era, and has carefully selected a number of songs with a strong city pop and AOR flavor for this unique release! Monsieur Monsieur was always ahead of his time in the trio era, and his antennae extended to city pop and AOR. The trio's hit album, "Ah, My Good Friend," was surely a surefire hit, as Monsieur Hosono and Eiichi Otaki's songs were placed at the beginning of both sides of the album. This album is a carefully selected selection of city pop and AOR numbers from the four albums released during the trio's time. The first half of the album features city pop numbers such as M2, which sounds like the morning sun shining through, and the middle half is filled with AOR-inspired songs performed by American musicians. M11, which was co-written with Yumi, is a particularly good song that evokes the strangeness of the collaboration. In the latter half of the album, the trio's first album, which was their first live recording, features M13, a smiling father-son collaboration, and M15, which was created by Tetsushi Hayashi when he was still unknown, as well as the appearance of Tatsuhiko Yamamoto, a city pop nobleman, as a member. Bonus tracks include modern remakes of classics from the Spiders era as well as his own compositions.Includes M19, which was revived in Shibuya-kei circles as Japan's original acid jazz!
