This special issue, which commemorates the release of Dr. John's posthumous album "Things Happen That Way," covers his hometown, his life, and the unique musical culture of New Orleans. The feature, which also delved into traditional cuisine, events, and other aspects of the city's charms, was met with a great response when it was first published. The book also includes a CD containing the oldest known recordings of jazz music and a number of songs that provide important clues to his roots, as well as vivid illustrations of musicians and culture associated with New Orleans. The light New Orleans sound is perfect for the summer weather, and if you haven't picked up a copy yet, you're in for a treat!
