Until now, reissues of SPs and LPs in the Opus collection have been done by Teruyoshi Yasuhara, with a few exceptions. This time, for the first time, all CDs are being reissued by Yoichi Hirokawa. In fact, before Opus Kura was born, Mr. Yasuhara taught Mr. Hirokawa how to properly extract the sound from SPs, and then Mr. Hirokawa further developed the technique in his own way. In other words, there is a master-disciple relationship, and Yasuhara's DNA is embedded in Hirokawa's sound. We hope you enjoy the sound of his apprentice. (Reprinted by Yoichi Hirokawa)This CD features Hirokawa's own reprints from his collection of rare prewar SP recordings from when she was still in her teens, as well as famous postwar SP performances that have been famous since the LP era. The recordings have been reissued with realistic sound quality from the Opus Collection, which is worthy of the reputation of the Opus Collection of violins.Gluck's "Melody" and Paradis' "Sicilienne" were Neveu's memorable first session recordings in Berlin on April 13, 1938. The following year, in March 1939, he recorded Richard Strauss' Violin Sonata, also in Berlin. Strauss celebrated the 150th anniversary of his birth this year (2014), and 1939 was the 75th anniversary of his birth, so this was probably a commemorative recording. Neveu's full-scale recordings began in London immediately after the war. Sibelius and Brahms were the only two concertos left (OPK2064), but here we have a collection of smaller pieces.
