Everything But the Girl (EBTG) was formed in 1982 by singer-songwriters and musicians Tracy Thorn and Ben Watt. A definitive edition of their seventh studio album, *Amplified Heart*, has been released on UHQCD with a paper sleeve. This version features the original album plus extra tracks, including demos and live recordings, all remastered to the highest standard! In 1993, Ben Watt made his comeback from illness with the EP *The Boy from New York* (a cover of Simon & Garfunkel). The following year, in 1994, this album, *Amplified Heart*, was released, depicting the hardships and disappointments of his hospital stay. Characterized by sparkling folk-electronica, it features guest appearances by folk-rock veterans such as Danny Thompson. Moving away from the lavish sound of the previous album, it presents a simple yet effective soundscape. This is the first time in Japan that a collection of B-sides and eight live tracks have been released. Also included is the club mix of “Missing,” which reached No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100.
