In 2017, Medjieva celebrates the 20th anniversary of her concert debut in Japan with an all-Beethoven program. She will perform three of the last piano sonatas of the composer with conviction and clarity of sound. The sound and rhythms are thoroughly detailed and clear. The well-proportioned structure and huge sense of scale, combined with a sense of improvisation and boldness, showcase Medjieva's maturity in recent years. The margins include a performance of Bach's Prelude as an encore, and the brilliant and sublime sound of the 1967 New York Steinway is also appealing.
