She was also active with Rip Rip Rig & Panic and the New Age Steppers, and achieved great success as a solo artist in the late 80's and 90's. She has collaborated with many famous acts such as Yssou N'Dour, Tricky, and Gorillaz, and has been a member of Ray Petri's creative collective Buffalo ＞Nena Cherry has been an icon not only in music but also in culture as a whole. On the other hand, the group consists of Swedish reed player Mats Gustafsson, Ingebrigt Hortel Fraten and Poul Nilsen Love, who are also well known in Atomic, and has performed with a variety of musicians across genres, from the Cato Salsa Experience, Joe McPhee, Thurston Moore, Jim O'Rourke, to Otomo. The Thing has collaborated with many artists across genres, from the Cato Salsa Experience, Joe McPhee, and Thurston Moore to Jim O'Rourke and Otomo Yoshihide, and has gained popularity for its sound that goes far beyond the realm of jazz. This album is a poignant album of covers produced by these two geniuses, and the selection of cover songs is exquisite, including Suicide, Martina Topley Bird, The Stooges, and MF Doom. Of course, Nena's stepfather Don Cherry's repertoire is also included.
