Toru Hashimoto (SUBURBIA). Based in Shibuya's "Cafe Apremidi," he continues to gain tremendous support for his various music proposals that add color to everyday life. His partner is Jiro Fujita, FJD, a graphic designer who has handled artwork for numerous musical works, including jazzy and mellow beats by Nujabes, works by artists such as Calm, Sakura Fujiwara, and Keisuke Kuwata, as well as architecture, hotel lobby art, and store logos. His design works can be seen all over Tokyo, from architecture to hotel lobby art, shop logos, and more. The first in the new "Incense Music" compilation series, "Incense Music for Bed Room," which was mastered by Toru Hashimoto (music selection and supervision), Jiro Fujita (artwork), and Calm, a top Japanese jazz, chill-out, and Balearic artist who is also highly regarded overseas, will be released in March 2024 (and is also the relaunch of Suburbia Records). Incense Music for Bedroom" was released in March 2024 (also the relaunch of Suburbia Records) and is now available on CD, streaming, LP, and two 7-inch singles. The second release in the series, "Incense Music for Living Room," is now available.The theme of the event is "The Marriage of Scent and Music" by Toru Hashimoto, and the music is a blend of ambient, jazz, chill-out, Balearica, post-classical, jazzy and mellow beats for a peaceful living space, with new recordings by artists Toru trusts (Calm's cover of Holger Schukai's "Persian Love," Yoshiharu Takeda's cover of Bobby Hutcherson's "Montara," and pianist Noriko Gyosei's famous "I Miss You. A cover of Holger Schukai's "Persian Love" by Calm, a cover of Bobby Hutcherson's "Montara" by Yoshiharu Takeda, and a new track arranged by haruka nakamura from pianist Noriko Gyose's rendition of the classic "I Miss You"), as well as a beautiful cover illustrated by Jiro Fujita. The beautiful cover artwork was newly drawn by Jiro Fujita.
