For over 30 years, CONVERGE has continued to offer musical and emotional catharsis, prioritizing purpose over perception and intent over interpretation. Following their previous album, LoveIsNotEnough, released four months ago, HumofHurt is their second full-length album of 2026. While working on the previous album, the band generated such a vast amount of material that they realized they had effectively created two distinct albums, leading them to produce HumofHurt as a standalone work. Like its predecessor, this album offers a somber yet empathetic perspective on human nature and a situation that is gradually deteriorating. The songs on this album have become even more raw and unvarnished. The title track, which has been released, is one of the most emotionally charged and driving tracks in Converge’s career. Although it is a different work from Love Is Not Enough, both albums radiate an intense and powerful energy. “This isn’t a sequel. It’s an album that leans more toward emotional hardcore,” said Jacob Bannon.
