Six years after the recording of the complete "Platero and I," the matured sound of the ensemble opens up new horizons. The intimate dialogue between voice and guitar speaks to the heart with deep reverberations. Dowland's three pieces are the epitome of English lute songs filled with melancholy. Schubert's "Ave Maria" is a prayerful melody that resonates with the heart. Britten's arrangement of old songs depicts a simple and poetic English landscape. Falla's Folk Songs is a masterpiece of colorful songs from all over Spain. Browell's Love Songs is a passionate triptych of poetry and music. Cuban Lullabies is a guitar solo filled with nostalgia and tenderness. Time" by Yuji Takahashi is a quiet meditation that accompanies the poems of the young Schubert.
