On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Yoshinao Nakata's birth, I first met Mr. Sakashita when he was still a student at a music college and enthusiastically performing with four of his friends. I was especially attracted to Sakashita's singing voice when I first heard them sing after being begged for lessons. He has a soft and resonant voice, which is rare among Japanese. If her husband Yoshinao Nakata, a composer, had met Sakashita before his death, he would have been delighted by her voice.
