What a beautiful, radiant performance. Takeyuki Ladai has recorded Beethoven's three late sonatas in full! A masterpiece of deep taste and fragrance. Pianist Takeyuki Ladai captivates listeners with his unique sensibility. Every year, he continues to give recitals at the Tokyo Bunka Kaikan Small Hall, and has released a CD of these concerts on the SONARE label. This album features Beethoven's Piano Sonatas Nos. 30, 31, and 32 performed at the recital "Takeyuki Ladai Plays Beethoven's Late Three Great Sonatas" on October 10, 2022. Beethoven has always been at the center of his performance activities, and he has always taken it seriously. In terms of recordings, he has released live CDs of Piano Sonata No. 31 in 2009 and 2016, respectively, but this is the first recording of the three late sonatas. The delicate, refined, and gentle sound of Ladder is appealing, and in this performance, each note shines clearly and brightly, and the musicality is truly deep and moving, even though it is unobtrusive. In addition to piano sonatas, Ladai has also performed violin sonatas with Wolfgang David. His own warm heart is evident in his music, and you can feel his reverence for Beethoven throughout the performance.The 45-year-old Ladai can be heard at his full potential as a performer in this Beethoven. This is a new masterpiece in the Beethoven cycle. Growing up in Vienna, he was always in the company of nature, and you can hear even the local air Beethoven must have breathed in his playing. I am very pleased to have this masterpiece that reminds us once again of the depth of his musical background. In 1994, he won the first prize at the International Music Competition for the Blind and Low Vision in the Czech Republic and the International Piano Competition for Young People in Ettlingen, Germany (B category) as the youngest participant, and was recognized for his rich musicality. In 1998, she won the second prize at the Ron Thibaud International Piano Competition in Paris, as well as the SACEM Prize (recital prize) and the Spion Bonneau Foundation Prize. 1999: Tokyo Metropolitan Cultural Honor Medal, Idemitsu Music Award, and Braille Mainichi Cultural Award.He was awarded the Mayor's Prize of Warsaw at the International Chopin Competition in 2000. Mr. Lai has received high acclaim for his numerous recordings. In recent years, he has been actively releasing works on the SONARE label, including "Takeyuki Ladai Piano Recital 2013" (SONARE-1023), "Wolfgang David & Takeyuki Ladai / Duo Recital 2015" (SONARE-1030), and "Takeyuki Ladai Schubertiade 2021" ( SONARE-1056) each received a "Special Selection" from Record Geijutsu magazine.
