Description:
The two Chopin concertos by Maurice Vedder, a pianist born in 1988 who studied at the Conservatory of Music in Basel, make their OEHMS debut not with the usual orchestral accompaniment but in a piano sextet version that creates a more intimate sound, and the music is tight without the "poor orchestral parts" that are often pointed out. The music is very close, without the "poor orchestral parts" that are often pointed out. The piano is both naïve and powerful, and the strings are close to the piano, but assertive when necessary.
