At the time, the "Satsukikai," the leading Japanese competitive karuta tournament, is holding a press conference inside the TV station, and the sudden incident has caused a panic! Heiji Hattori, a famous detective from the west, and his childhood friend Kazuha Toyama are the only two people left behind in the collapsing building, but they are rescued by Conan who rushes to the scene just in time. Conan and Heiji cannot help but feel a sense of unease at the inexplicable situation: the incident seems like a terrorist attack, but the perpetrator's purpose is unknown, and not even a statement of the crime has been issued. Amidst the commotion, Conan and his friends meet a woman who claims to be Heiji's fiancee. Her name is Momiji Ooka. She is a high school karuta champion and a future queen. At the same time, the winner of the Satsuki Cup is murdered in a Japanese house in Arashiyama, Kyoto. At that time, Momiji's image was shown on the monitor at the murder scene.Karuta cards are scattered around the victim in a meaningful way...
