The second album by this young talent is a long-awaited concerto by Rachmaninoff, who, along with Tchaikovsky, is one of the most popular concertos of all time. The accompaniment for this great instrument, which has transcended the oceans and blossomed with his talent, is provided by the genius Italian conductor Battistoni, who also regularly releases works on Columbia's CDs. The session recording was made in Turin, Italy, with the RAI National Symphony Orchestra, the most prestigious orchestra in Italy. The distinctive sound of the famous RAI orchestra, which is recognizable from the first note, is truly impressive in today's international and global world of orchestras, with a truly local sound that is unique.Battistini's astonishing control that drives the music, and Trita's amazing balance of restraint and explosion on the piano, create a new masterpiece that will truly be passed down to the end of the 21st century. The coupling is Rachmaninoff's Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini, recorded last September 2015 by Battistini, Antta, and the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra. The liner notes are in three languages (Japanese, English, and Italian) for an international release.
