She is highly acclaimed for her flexible interpretations, which range from Baroque to contemporary works, adapted to the spirit of each era. Her latest album features the cello concertos of Saint-Saëns and Lalo, performed with “Les Siècles,” an orchestra that alternates between period and modern instruments. Conducting is François-Xavier Roth, founder of “Les Siècles” and Music Director of the Gürzenich Orchestra Cologne, among other roles—one of the leading maestros in the contemporary classical music world. Sol Gabetta brings each work to life with a strong sense of narrative and color, vividly highlighting the beauty of the melodies and the distinct character of each piece. Her collaboration with “Les Siècles” brings a vivid and lively sound to the recording while reflecting the stylistic sensibilities of the 19th century.
