The resident show *Billy Joel at the Garden*, which ran monthly for 11 years starting in January 2014 at Madison Square Garden in his hometown of New York, selling out every performance, came to a close on July 25, 2024, with the 150th show of his career—an unprecedented run of regular performances. This MSG 100 concert took place on March 28, two months after his emotionally charged Tokyo Dome performance—his first there in 16 years. Although the concert was televised nationwide (on CBS) three weeks later on April 14, the broadcast was cut down from the full 25-song setlist to just 14 songs. Furthermore, due to a technical error during the broadcast, the program ended abruptly in the middle of the finale, “Piano Man,” prompting the network to issue a hasty apology. Although a rebroadcast was arranged immediately afterward, it was still the edited version; thus, this release finally marks the official, complete release of that legendary and memorable concert. The performance of the new song “Turn the Lights Back On,” with its live arrangement now fully established, is also a major highlight. (C)RS
