Katia Buniatishvili, a comet from Georgia, a country that has produced many outstanding musicians, signed an exclusive contract with Sony Classical in 2011 and made a brilliant debut in the spring of the same year with a collection of Franz Liszt's works celebrating the bicentennial of his birth. This opulent disc features Rachmaninoff's famous Third Piano Concerto with the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by the up-and-coming conductor Paavo Järvi, with whom she has not performed together since Chopin's Second Concerto on the "Chopin Album". The coupling is a piano piece that also exists in a giant orchestral version, and the extremely colorful pianism can be enjoyed with Katia's brilliant technique and musicality. Sony Music
