Description:
Viennese virtuoso Rudolf Buchbinder is a pianist with a wide repertoire, but the core of his repertoire is German-Austrian music represented by Beethoven and Brahms. In particular, his 32 piano sonatas and 5 concertos by Beethoven were re-recorded by Sony Classical not long after his transfer to the label, reaffirming his ability as one of the best interpreters of Beethoven today. However, there has been no recording of Bach, one of the three major B's, as a full-length album (only a live recording of the English Suite No. 3 from the Salzburg Festival has been released). So one cannot help but anticipate this Bach album, the result of a two-day session in September 2014 at Dresden's Luke Church, which is renowned for its warm sound. In the three pieces selected, two partitas, masterpieces of Baroque suites, and his specialty, the English Suite No. 3, we will hear Bach at his best on the modern piano. Recorded September 24 & 25, 2014 at Luke's Church, Dresden, Germany.
