Bywater Coal is a Southern Soul & Roots Rock band formed in Toronto, Canada in 2017 by vocalist Megan Parnell and guitarist Dave Barnes.The seven-member band debuted in 2019 with Bywater Call. The band's live, powerful sound and Megan's powerful vocals immediately became a hit, sweeping the charts on Roots Music Report, UK Radio, and Euro Americana, and earning them a nomination for Best Newcomer at the 2020 Maple Blues Awards. Their second album, 2022's "Remain," was nominated for four more Maple Blues Awards and won many other music awards, including the UK Blues Award.In 2023, the band will tour approximately 100 stops in Europe and North America, headlining at festivals around the world, including Joe Bonamassa's Mediterranean cruise and headlining in the Netherlands, Canada, and England, where they have been hailed as "the highlight of the festival season.
