The newcomer, a junior member of Kingfish, is already here! At just 20 years old, Houston-based blues guitar prodigy Masaias Lattin won the 2023 International Blues Challenge in the band category and was named Best Guitarist. His technique has been highly acclaimed. His songwriting, influenced by Marvin Gaye, Bobby Womack, and Lucky Peterson, sets him apart from the rest. Born in 2002 in Houston, Texas, Masaias Lattin is the grandson of NBA Hall of Famer David "Big Daddy" Lattin, and was inspired to play the blues by BB King at the age of 10. He was invited by John Del Toro Richardson to his blues jam, where he played with local stars such as Annika Chambers. Gradually, he began to develop his abilities. He then went on to study music in earnest at Kinder High School, a performing and visual arts program, and formed his own band, Untitled, in 2016.They performed at the 2018 International Blues Challenge as Houston's Youth Showcase Band. In 2020, he released his first single as a solo artist, "Naughty Me," and in 2023, he won the International Blues Challenge in the band category and was named Best Guitarist.
