Dave Mason, a singer and songwriter who has played with Jimi Hendrix, The Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton and others since the 60's as a guitarist for Traffic, has selected songs from his 7 albums (including live recordings) from his Columbia days from 1973 to 1980. This is a re-release of the best of Mason's seven albums (including live recordings) from his time at Columbia from 1973-80. The songs are from Mason's most brilliant period, and include songs covered by Joe Cocker, Delani & Bonnie, and many others, as well as the duet with Michael Jackson, "Save Me" and other classic songs. Dave Mason, a guitarist born in England in 1946, formed Traffic with Steve Winwood and others in 1967 and debuted with the album "Mr. Fantasy. He played with the band until 1971, repeatedly leaving and rejoining the group. As a session player, he played on albums by Jimi Hendrix and the Rolling Stones, and toured with Delaney and Bonnie, Eric Clapton, George Harrison, and others. After the release of "Alone Together" in 1970, he began to focus on his solo career.After moving to Columbia, he produced a series of albums, including "It's Like You Never Left" in 1973, "Dave Mason" in 1974, and "Let It Flow" in 1977, all of which charted well. He also showed his talent as a songwriter with hits such as "Only You Know and I Know" and "We Just Disagree," and although he has been away from releases since the 1980s, he toured with Steve Cropper in 2018 and will release "Alone, Together, Again" in 2020.
