Description:

A masterpiece from a veteran alternative folk singer who is still a force to be reckoned with! Long out of stock since its release in 2014, this long-awaited re-release! The album features a group of talented musicians, each with their own playability that explodes throughout the performance. Kazuki Tomokawa himself says, "I think this is the best album I've made in the last 20 years. He is a modern-day itinerant poet who sings as if he were screaming into the void or nursing a child, forgets to eat or sleep, immerses himself in painting, plays bicycle races as if possessed, and drinks to the end of his intoxication. Kazuki Tomokawa is 63 years old. In recent years, young artists such as Nanao Tabito, Maeno Kenta, and amazarashi have spoken of their influence on their music and have been receiving increasing media exposure on TV and radio. In January 2014, Kazuki Tomokawa will release his first full-length studio album in three years, "Revenge Bourbon". The recording for this album was made by six talented musicians from Japan, including Toshiaki Ishizuka (Tou-Nou Keisatsu/ drums, percussion), Masato Nagahata (Pascals/ piano, accordion, mandolin), Hiromichi Sakamoto (Pascals/ cello, electronics), as well as a French filmmaker, Vincent Moon, who performed with Tomokawa in his documentary film "Blunders of Flowers" (2009), and was acclaimed by Tomokawa as "an unmistakable genius who grasps the maboroshi". The group also breaks new ground in terms of sound, with the participation from abroad of Gaspar Krauss, an up-and-coming cellist who performed with Tomokawa in the documentary film "Hana no Negligence" (2009) by French filmmaker Vincent Moon, and was praised by Tomokawa as "an unmistakable genius who captures the maboroshi (maze). (*This text was written at the time of release in 2014.) Participating musicians Kazuki Tomokawa (vocal, guitar) Toshiaki Ishizuka (brain police, Shinorama, etc./drums,percussion) Taro Kanai (Pascals/guitar) Gaspar Krauss (cello) Hiromichi Sakamoto (Pascals, etc./cello,electronics) Masato Nagahata (Pascals, etc./piano,accordion,mandolin) Ayumi Matsui (Pascals/violin) Yuki Yoshida (NRQ/Erhu)
