Bruce Springsteen's masterpiece 'Born To Run', discovered by the world alongside his famously catchy line "I saw the future of rock 'n' roll", is captured here from the tour, specifically the March 28, 1976 performance at Cameron Indoor Stadium in Durham, North Carolina! The success of 'Born To Run' meant Springsteen had to earn his keep through touring, as financial constraints during production and post-release lawsuits prevented him from making new material. Consequently, he performed over 200 shows intermittently between 1974 and 1977.Each tour had its own name depending on the period, but the main one was the Born To Run Tour, which ran from July 1975 through the end of that year to coincide with the album's release. The tour from March to May 1976 was named the Chicken Scratch Tour because it focused on the American South. The most famous live performance from this period is undoubtedly the overwhelming show at London's Hammersmith Odeon on November 18, 1975, which finally saw the light of day when included with the 30th anniversary edition of 'Born To Run' in 2005. This North Carolina show, however, took place just four months later, marking the third performance of the Chicken Scratch Tour. Centered around songs from Born To Run, the setlist also featured notable covers like The Animals' "It's My Life" and, perhaps reflecting the Southern location, Eddie Floyd's "Raise Your Hand."Performances featuring new members like Roy Bittan on piano and Little Steven on guitar were already well-established, and Springsteen's energetic live shows—still in his twenties—are all must-hear, each with its own distinct flavor!
