Description:
The long-awaited CD release of the debut album by Wales' leading SSW, Endaf Emlyn (original release: 1973)! She made her debut with three singles on the Parlophone label in the UK between 1971 and 1973. His first album was released on the leading Welsh folk label, Sane. He released a total of four "Welsh albums" on the same label by 1981 (after which he became one of the leading Welsh film producers). The title means "nostalgia" in English. Mike Parker (piano, guitar), who had a producer credit on the previous single, co-produced the album with Emlyn. On bass is Mike Thorn, who is also known for producing Metro's (Peter Gorwin) album. Bob Wackett, who has a participation credit on Neil Innes' Off the Record (1982), is a veteran drummer who began his career with the Cyril Davis R&B All Stars and Dusty Springfield's backing band around '63-'64. The first track is Randy Newman's Welsh version. The arrangement is more reminiscent of "Nilsson Sings Newman" than Newman's version, and is a "Welsh version of the Burbank Sound".The second track is another Brian Wilson-esque soft rock with gorgeous string arrangements and chorus harmonies, while the third track shifts into a slightly psychedelic folk-rock style, and the last track, which has an atmosphere linked to the album title, is a song from Elton John & Bernie Taupin's album "Madman" (1971).
