Hanakif, a female pianist, sound artist, and composer/arranger originally from Estonia and currently based in London, releases her second album—her first in three years. This long-awaited new work, which transcends genres to bring deep emotion and healing to listeners, marks a significant step forward for the artist in terms of musical vision, performance, and experimentation, and is being released simultaneously worldwide. Hanakiff is a young female pianist, sound artist, and composer originally from Estonia who is currently based in London. Having made a sensational debut in 2023 with *Goodbyes*, released on the cutting-edge British jazz label Gondwana Records, she constructs a sonic world inspired by both the nostalgic landscapes of her homeland—Estonian hymns and traditional music, as well as its beautiful nature—and the diverse, avant-garde artists she encountered after moving to the metropolis of London. Hailed as a masterpiece that transcends the boundaries of piano ambient, she made her first visit to Japan in November 2024 as part of “THE PIANO ERA.” After more than two years of production since her debut, her second album, *Interlude*, will be released worldwide simultaneously on March 20, 2026. In the process of exploring and deepening the possibilities of piano music, she says she shifted her focus from ambient music toward an approach as a songwriter. This is clearly evident in the four tracks featuring her own vocals for the first time, but the change is also striking in the instrumental pieces. Melodies that seem to overflow with the joy of playing the piano, arrangements woven in layers as guided by imagination, a free-spirited approach to experimental sound effects, and the active incorporation of strings and rhythm sections—all of these elements evoke a scene where a gentle light of “vitality” softly shines through the atmosphere of “silence” that permeated her previous work.
