Hichiriki is a musical instrument that was once spelled "kiriki" (ichiriki). This is an album by Hitomi Nakamura, a Hichiriki player who has long been associated with the unique sound of Hichiriki. The album includes seven pieces dedicated to the village of Iitate in Fukushima Prefecture, which was forced to evacuate due to the nuclear power plant accident, as well as a piece called "Banshojochi", which is an ancient form of gagaku music.
