The long-awaited solo guitar album from Brazil's leading guitarist/composer/producer, Daniel Santiago. The album is based on 10 songs by Kurt Rosenwinkel, who continues to be an undeniable presence in contemporary jazz guitar through his compositions and performances, and breathes new life into them by fusing his unique sensibility with his Brazilian musical roots. Rosenwinkel himself plays acoustic guitar (steel strings) on two songs on the album. Mikhaila Bokova joins Rosenwinkel on two tracks on acoustic guitar (steel strings) and adds vocals that update Rosenwinkel's worldview, creating a sound world that is at once intimate and richly expansive. Kurt Rosenwinkel's new release on HEARTCORE. Santiago's artistry has always been marked by his ability to create music that transcends boundaries.Rooted in the traditional resonances of his native Brazil, but shaped equally by the attitude of British rock and the intricate elaborations of contemporary jazz, he has established his own unique musical language as a result.
