Description:
Kanz, a hardcore punk band featuring Mike Crain of Dead Cross and others. Second album, "Sorts & Players," completed after four and a half years of global/personal tragedy, is now available. After a whirlwind of global/personal tragedy, guitarist Mike Crain (Dead Cross, Retox, Festival Of Dead Deer), drummer Kevin Avery (Retox, Planet B), and vocalist Matt Cronk (Qui) have joined forces with new guitarist Koko Arabian and bassist Rico Adair, and return with a second album.After the release of their 2019 debut, Cunts, CNTS (renamed from the band Cunts) was able to do one short tour before the pandemic, but but the rest of the hiatus was spent recording and planning for the band's future endeavors. However, when Matt Cronk was injured in a car accident and a botched surgery paralyzed his vocal cords, rendering him unable to speak, let alone sing, the band announced its dissolution.During this time, the other members were working on other projects until winter 2023, when, against doctors' expectations, Cronk's vocal cords began to recover, and within two months his voice returned, assuring that the band could do it again by March. reinvigorated by Cronk's recovery and the new lineup, CNTS, immersed themselves in the creation of an album, and the new album, Thoughts & Prayers, with a title inspired by "the banality of our collective response to the crisis," was completed. The band translated years of frustration and hardship into a clear and aggressive statement.
