The Queen of Lovers Rock, Hollie Cook, released a dub version of her fourth album Happy Hour in 2022 Merge Records is proud to present Happy Hour in Dub, the dub version of Hollie Cook's critically acclaimed 2022 album Happy Hour. Her first full-length dub album since 2012, Happy Hour in Dub is the result of careful listening to the modern lovers rock of her original album. The impetus and inspiration to make a dub record came from the fact that the original "Happy Hour" had many intricate musical details that ran throughout the songs, from the backing vocals and string arrangements to the more subtle details. When we heard these parts on a drum and bass foundation during the mixing process, we felt there was a lot left in the song that needed to be explored and exposed more," said Cook and "Happy Hour" producer Ben Mckone.For HappyHour in Dub, featuring new vocalists Josh Skints and Kiko Bun, Mckone stretched Hollie's soulful work to its sonic limits.
